A Day in the Life of North Carolina Timberdoodlers

A

Hi there! My name is Katie and I’m a newbie “homeschool mom.” This is our first summer with Timberdoodle and we will start Kindergarten this Fall!!!

My husband is Chris and he works as a General Manager of a hotel. I work part time as a lifestyle photographer. It’s lots of fun!

Our daughter is Sophia Rose, and she just turned 5 years old.

We live at the beach and love spending our days playing in the ocean, going to the pool, or local park! Sophia is learning to swim under water and currently thinks she can make it all the way to Disney World if she could just hold her breath long enough, haha!

Sophia loves horses and she loves her weekly ballet class.

We have a baby Pug and her name is Eloise. She is so funny and full of personality. She loves stealing Sophia’s toys and hides them behind our couch or in her bed.

Our family loves to cook together and we are planning our first Disney trip for next year!

Our Morning:

We are currently on summer break but we are already getting into our curriculum! We are loving our routine and hope to continue it through the fall. Mondays are actually our favorite right now because it means a new theme for the week!

We typically are up and eating breakfast by 8:00 and we love making oatmeal with toppings! It keeps us focused and fills up our tummies.

On Mondays during the summer we start or new theme and so far we’ve done bugs, plants, and today we are starting our week with “our bodies.” We are using our Usborne book, Look Inside Your Body, and some of our science kits too! Sophia loves this book and the flaps are so interactive that she stays focused the whole time. We are also incorporating a math lesson and counting our bones!

So right now since this is so new to us our routine is changing a little but we are loving it. A timeline of our “School Day” will be breakfast, science, history/current events, math, art + STEM, then ending with reading + writing.

As a mom and a teacher I also like to add in time for myself to sit down and work in my planner. It helps to really see what we’ve covered for the day and what to focus on tomorrow and the rest of the week. If Sophia is struggling with a topic or has lots of extra questions I am totally fine with repeating on Fridays and giving her a small “fun quiz” as we call it!

Our Afternoon:

Our afternoons are special! We use afternoons for art/STEM and for reading/writing!

We also have ballet on Thursdays and music class on Tuesdays. Since we are currently on summer break our days are a lot more relaxed and we’ve been doing our assignments at the pool or beach! It makes for an awesome setting and super relaxing!

Our Evening:

We love cooking as a family but most days this isn’t realistic so I really try to have dinner ideas ready at the beginning of the week so I’m not spending so much time thinking, “What should we have?!” Fridays are saved for pizza nights and Taco Tuesdays are a big hit in our house!

We love ending our days with a short book or at least a full chapter if we’re reading Sophia a bigger story. Right now we are reading The Secret Garden!

Just for Fun:

We have ballet each Thursday and last year Sophia took part in 3 performances! The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and A MidSummer’s Dream. They are all amazing but our favorite was Beauty and the Beast!

We also joined a music class on Tuesdays. This fall Sophia will be able to join Girl Scouts so I’m sure that will be lots of fun. On these days our routine isn’t affected as much but we do follow a shorter schedule just to make it easier on her and Mom!

A Day in the Life of Missouri Timberdoodlers

A

Hi, I’m Amy and my family consists of my husband David, who is a pastor, and our five children:

  • Eli is 9 and loves American Ninja Warrior
  • Emory, 7, likes all things princess and girly
  • Caroline, 4, likes books and chasing her older siblings around
  • Maggie, 2, likes climbing in everything, riding her tricycle, and swimming
  • AJ, 8 months, likes rolling around and putting things in her mouth

We also have a dog named Albus. He is a German shepherd mix. When we have free time we love hiking and exploring new places together as a family.

Our Morning:

Eli is our morning person and is always up first, but he is also very loud and rambunctious, so everyone else gets up shortly after him.

The kids cleaned their room while I made some scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. I worked on last night’s dishes while everyone ate.

After breakfast, we got started on school. Eli worked on math while Emory and I worked on language arts. Then we switched and Emory did math while Eli and I did language arts. The little kids played with Barbies and drew pictures.

Our Afternoon:

Around lunch time we took a break. The kids went outside to play while I made sandwiches and apple slices.

After lunch we had some reading time. The two older kids read books to themselves while I read to the younger kids.

After that I did science and history with the older kids. They share the curriculum for those subjects so we do them together.

Our Evening:

When school was finished, the kids worked on picking up while I prepared dinner. We had spaghetti and ate when David got home.

After dinner, the neighbors were outside playing so we all went out to visit and play with them.

Just for Fun:

Eli and Emory both take ballet about an hour away and we go to a homeschool co-op about 30 minutes away. Both of those activities are on Mondays so we don’t get much done on Monday. We generally try to work around that by doing extra work during the week and having a four day school week. Eli also takes piano lessons and we all go to Wednesday night church services.

A Day in the Life of American Timberdoodlers

A

Hi! My name is Ashlee. I am homeschooling my 9-, 8-, and 7-year-olds.

My husband is a crane operator, which takes us all over the United States.

I am also in my last year of legal studies. Life is crazy and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our Morning:

Morning, we wake up and eat breakfast before getting our day started.

Our school day can start anywhere from 8:00 to 8:30. This last year I did a mix of online and paper work. In the mornings we try to get all of the serious subjects done: reading, writing, and spelling.

Our Afternoon:

Lunch is around 12:30.

Afternoon subjects I try to make into games or more exciting. We do math and science, and whatever elective each child chooses.

Our Evening:

Dinner, I try to include the kids.

Then have family time after dinner before bed at 8:30.

Just for Fun:

I have my girls in gymnastics and my son wrestles. I love the socialization they get from sports.

A Day in the Life of Texas Timberdoodlers

A

My name is Betsey and I am homeschool mom of 4 kids. I am originally from Upstate New York but have been living and homeschooling in Texas for 8 years now.

My husband works for a nearby college and is also a full time student so his days are very long and his weekends are spent studying.

I have two boys schooling now. My 9th grader is the resident chef and aspiring engineer with a love of music. My 5th grade boy is active and high energy with a fun sense of humor and a wonderful work ethic.

We also have two little girls who add delight and joy to our days and fill us with lots of cute distractions. My oldest daughter is 5 and will be starting Kindergarten and her sister is 3 and will be starting to learn to write her name.

We have 2 pets: a golden lab named Scout and a house bunny named Lucy. Our family loves to play board games, go swimming and watch movies.

Our Morning:

This morning was a Monday. My husband gets up early makes his breakfast, does some Bible reading and packs his school bag. He leaves for work around 7:30.

My girls are also up and asking for breakfast and milk and juice. I get up and make some coffee, feed the girls some eggs or oatmeal and read my Bible and look over my calendar for the day. We are working a summer school schedule this summer since we moved last fall and took an extra long break so we are still finishing up some academics but on a light schedule.

My younger boy is getting ready to go to a basketball camp this morning with his cousin so he makes his own breakfast and does his chores and is ready to go by 8:30.

My older boy eats breakfast and we discuss his school checklist for the day. He has his books out by 9:00 and I see that he gets started and I go upstairs to do my exercise and get ready for the day. I listen to an audiobook while I do some cardio and stretching that my doctor has me doing. Its only day 4 of this and I do not want to do any of it! But I will.

I’m back downstairs by 9:45 and my girls have given themselves the chickenpox with a brown marker. Thankfully it is washable and we work to get them cleaned up.

I brew a pot of tea and see where in the checklist my son is with his schooling. He has done most of his work but has a book that we usually read together. We pour some tea with honey and read for about 30 minutes. The little girls come to join us for some tea and listen a little before going back to play in the other room.

By 11:00 we finish the chapter of our book and my son moves on to his science book. He finishes that up just before my other son comes home from basketball at 11:15. Time to clean up the books and tea cups and start some lunch.

Our Afternoon:

With our academics behind us we move on towards lunch time. My girls are quickly becoming ravenous. I decide that we need to clean out the fridge and pantry a bit today. The girls decide they want baked potatoes for lunch so I get them started in the microwave and pull out some freezer lunches for my older son as I also start to put dinner in the crock pot. We unload and reload the diswasher and I clean the kitchen a little bit while lunch is getting ready. Everyone enjoys a quick lunch and cleans up after themselves.

I look over everyone’s school and chores lists and approve a little bit of screen time while I work on kitchen projects and some deep cleaning. I put on a podcast to listen to while I work in the kitchen .

Our Evening:

After a free afternoon spent playing games, reading books and working on some household stuff I am happy that dinner was started hours ago. I have crockpot red beans and rice ready to eat which is a family favorite. We have to take Dad’s bowl out first and set it aside so he has dinner when he gets home from school. He works till 6:00 but has class till 10:00 pm tonight. He brings a sandwich to eat before class but usually has some of our dinner when he gets home late.

After dinner we clean up the kitchen and get the girls ready for bed. Once the clean-up is done we can read some books or watch a little TV before lights out.

The girls go to bed in shifts, the littlest first who gives us the hardest time. Once she is asleep her sister climbs up into her bunk and goes to bed.

The boys then listen to some audiobooks. I spend my evening reading a book or doing some crochet work while watching TV.

By 9:00 we all head to bed. The boys are allowed to read or listen to audio books until 10:00.

I do more doctor-prescribed stretches and exercises while listening to my audiobook. I then plan out tomorrow in my journal and look over my calendar and checklists until my husband comes home. We have a quick chat and I go to sleep.

He heads downstairs to watch TV or play some video games for a little while to unwind in a quiet house.

Just for Fun:

Twice a week we attend a park day for about 3 hours. We try to get some school done ahead of that time and afterwards.

We like to make the most of our drive time so we listen to some geography songs, and math facts songs, latin songs and spanish songs on the way to and from the park . This playlist has become a favorite and we listen to it most of the time we have 20 minutes or so in the car.

We like to play a lot of board games on the weekend and we carry travel games in the car to play anytime we have a few minutes of waiting.

Once a month or so we do a nature study class at a local park. The boys enjoy their class and the girls and I enjoy a brisk walk and time on the playground.

A Day in the Life of Iowa Timberdoodlers

A

My name is Jim and I am a homeschooling dad. My wife, Amber, works full time for a computer software company, and we have chosen to keep me at home with the kids. We have many homeschooling friends, but don’t personally know any other families where the dad is the teacher. Amber works in a largely male-dominated industry, so she is often one of the few women in the room when she represents her company at trade shows and such, and I am almost always the only dad in the room at homeschool gatherings.

We have three kids, all of whom have been homeschooled since the very beginning.

Our oldest daughter, Sienna, started dual-enrolling at a local high school last year (her freshman year), and has now mostly completed her sophomore year. Due to lots of extra time spent with a Driver’s Ed course and try-outs for cheerleading, she got behind on her at-home work. As such, she is essentially doing summer school at home until the work is all done!

Next oldest is our son, Connor, who finished 7th grade this year. He is a huge fan of the show American Ninja Warrior. When he gets old enough, he is determined to be a competitor on the show, so he spends lots of time exercising and learning appropriate skills (e.g. rope climbing, rock climbing, gymnastics, etc.).

Our youngest, Penny, just completed 3rd grade. She wants to be a chef when she grows up, so she likes watching cooking shows and helping out in the kitchen.

Rounding out the family is our dog, Lundy, and two cockatiels. Since both of our daughters have June birthdays (as do several nieces and nephews in the family), the beginning of summer is always hectic!

Our Morning:

A typical school day at our house begins with getting the oldest out of the house for her morning classes at public high school. She only takes one or two classes there and then finishes the day at home with her brother and sister. Our exact routine has varied each semester since she started dual enrolling for high school, but the younger two pretty much follow the same routine.

We start school at around 8:00. Our first activity is usually something we can all do together, which I try to tailor to a level that will engage both of them at their individual levels.

After that, I assign one of them to independently practice their piano lessons so I can help the other with book work. We try to rotate back and forth, so that one is working independently while I help the other. That usually works smoothly for maybe half an hour or so, before it inevitably degenerates into chaos and multiple people needing me at once!

Somewhere in there, the oldest daughter either arrives back home on her own (now that she can drive) or we have to break away to go get her. One way or another, we struggle through and keep everyone working until lunch break, when my wife is able to leave the office and come home to join us.

Our Afternoon:

Lunch is always a free-for-all. If we’re lucky and it’s towards the beginning of the week, there are usually sufficient leftovers from the weekend that something can be easily heated up. Otherwise, it becomes an issue of what can be put together quickly. We often keep working until my wife calls to say that she’s headed home for her lunch break. That signals the rest of us that it’s time for our lunch break as well. It’s a mixed blessing for us to always do our school work at the kitchen table. It’s the biggest (and generally the best) spot for us to work, but the table is always strewn with books while we try to eat lunch. On a good day, we pull all the books off onto a counter on the side before eating. Most days, we just stack them up and hope that nothing gets spilled on them!

When lunch ends, we do a quick clean-up and get back to it. We usually don’t get everyone finished until 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon.

Our Evening:

My wife usually gets home from work around 6:00 or 6:30 in the afternoon. Depending on the day, we may have been done with school for a couple hours, or still be struggling to get the last few things finished up.

Dinner is a day-to-day challenge, depending on what part of the week we are in. Early in the week, we may have leftovers from the weekend, but it’s also a fact that Wednesdays are grocery days. We may be running low on many things by Tuesday evening. After grocery night, the rest of the week is usually easier to find something! Quality food is very important to us, so we do our best to keep something homemade and nutritious on hand.

After everyone is fed, we all try to relax in our own ways. During warmer weather, we might go for a family walk or to a park. When the weather isn’t so nice, we might watch some TV or play a family game. My son and I love to read for enjoyment, but the girls don’t share that feeling. There are also some things which factor in based on the day of the week. Tuesday evenings the kids have to deliver papers for a paper route. Wednesday evenings during the school year are religious education class nights. One way or another, we are seldom bored!

Just for Fun:

While my role has lately been almost entirely as the at-home parent, I am also a Yoga teacher. Additionally, I am a chapter leader for our local chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation, a non-profit group which deals with nutrition. I take an active role in my local communities holistic wellness scene, doing everything I can to support and promote it. My wife has a very strong commitment to family and tries to keep our extended family connected in any way she can.

Penny’s Day

Hi. My name is Penny and I am 9. This year I finished the 3rd grade. I like to swing on ropes, walk on barrels, play in my backyard and train my dog and pet birds. Well, my birds don’t really learn many tricks. Someone else had the birds before we did and they taught them how to make a sneezing sound, but I don’t know how they did it. I would love to teach them to fly on command or give me a high-five, or maybe it would be called a high-wing. I like to give the birds treats and let them out of their cage to sit on the windowsill.

My Morning:

When I wake up in the morning, I do my streaks on Snapchat, check if there is anything fun on the computer and then go eat my breakfast.

If it is nice outside and there is time before school, I play outside a little.

Then we start school.

After my sister gets back from her morning classes at the high school, we take a break for a quick snack.

Then we do more school until lunch.

After my dad says it’s time for lunch break, I run outside to play for a few minutes.

My Afternoon:

My favorite lunch is macaroni and cheese, but I will eat other things too. I try to eat fast so I can get more play time outside.

When it is time to get back to work, I do school. In the afternoon, I usually have to do science or reading.

After that is done, I go back outside to do swinging or practice hanging upside down by my legs on a bar.

My Evening:

At night I like to watch TV and sometimes cook things. Desserts are my favorite things to cook.

If it is too cold to go outside at night, I just play with my pets. We have to separate our pets to play with them, because they don’t get along. Lundy, our dog, tries to eat the birds, so we have to keep her away when the birds are out of their cage.

Just for Fun:

I deliver newspapers on Tuesdays and I go to CCD (religious ed classes) on Wednesday nights. It can get extra busy on those days, so I have to make sure I’m ready. Other than that, I mostly like to be at home and play with friends.

Connor’s Day

Hi. My name is Connor and I like American Ninja Warrior training. I am 13. I like to go for runs, eat Paleo foods and play video games.

My Morning:

On a school morning, I get up at 5:30. I read, do my chores, do yoga and exercises. Then I eat breakfast, which is probably pancakes.

We start school around 8:00. I usually start the day with piano, reading and English.

My Afternoon:

For lunch, I pick foods out of my Paleo cookbook. If there is extra time, I might play outside before school starts again.

When my school work is done, I do more exercises. Sometimes I might play ping pong or solitaire for fun.

My Evening:

For dinner, I might have an almond butter and jelly sandwich on homemade bread.

In the evening, I like to train with my medicine ball or play games. I like Twister, Scrabble Slam and another game called Set.

I get up early in the morning, so I am usually the first one to bed at night.

Just for Fun:

I deliver newspapers and take piano lessons. If my city had a parkour club, I would definitely join it, but we don’t have one. Whenever I have a chance, I love to do indoor climbing walls.

Sienna’s Day

Hello! My name is Sienna and I’m a dual-enrolled student, but for the most part I’m homeschooled. I am 16 years old. I enjoy being outside, drawing, playing with my dog, hanging with friends and playing on my phone.

My Morning:

Usually I’m the first one to get up because in the mornings I go to a public school. Once I finish with my classes I go home.

When I get home I have a quick breakfast then I sometimes exercise for a while then I start my homeschool work.

My Afternoon:

Usually in the afternoon I spend a few hours doing my math, history and Spanish.

When I finish my school work for the day I like to practice piano.

My Evening:

Normally I spend the evening hanging with my family, watching TV, Snapchatting my friends and taking selfies with my sister.

Just for Fun:

I like to practice cheer and gymnastic stuff, even though I don’t take lessons or anything.

A Day in the Life of Hawaii Timberdoodlers

A

Hi, I am Jillian C of Oahu, Hawaii.

We are a military family of 5. Dad is in the Army, Mom is a photographer, 11-year-old (A) is a fashion designer in the marking, 6-year-old (D) is all about some Legos, and the 4-year-old (K) is into My Little Pony. We have one cat that helps keep life interesting.

Our Morning:

Let’s see. Dad leaves for work between 4:30 and 5:00 in the morning. That’s when Mom gets up and goes for a run or works out.

K is usually up between 6:00 and 7:00. She likes to get some Mommy cuddles in.

D gets up around 7:00.

A sometimes gets up and runs with Mom, sometimes not.

We typically start breakfast around 8:00. While eating, Mom reads library books.

Then we go get ready for the day and pick up rooms while Mom sets up for the school day on the kitchen table.

Typically we start with morning worksheets. Each child is in a different grade so the oldest starts in on her day and Mom works more with the little ones.

Our Afternoon:

We usually have lunch and a break around noon.

We finish up what’s left of school after lunch.

We do a STEM or art project every afternoon when the rest of the school day is done.

The kids take turns helping with or cooking dinner. Everyone has a say through the week.

Our Evening:

When Dad gets home from work we sit at the dinner table and each child shares what they learned at school and shows off favorite pages from the day.

Then we have a bedtime story after baths.

Just for Fun:

We are in a great local co-op that does a lot of field trips and activities. We will be starting music lessons this coming year.

A Day in the Life of Washington Timberdoodlers

A

Hello, I am Angela of Bellingham, Washington. We are a family of eight with 4 homeschooling-aged kids (6th, 4th, 2nd and preschool).

Mom stays at home and Dad is a delivery driver for aircraft parts. We enjoy camping as a family and are hoping to travel to every National Park in the US. We have an eclectic approach to homeschooling.

Our Morning:

Dad usually leaves before the rest of us get up.

Mom and kids get up for coffee and breakfast around 8:00 usually. Breakfast during the week is usually cereal or peanut butter wraps.

The kids enjoy some down-time on their tablets after breakfast and before chores.

The big kids then do their chores for the day and start on school. School is a mix of online, workbooks, games and videos.

Our Afternoon:

Some time around 1:00 or 2:00 we take a break for lunch. Lunch is different every day: left overs, sandwiches, soup, fried eggs, etc. Generally all the kids are close to being done with school by this time and either finish up or are free to go do something of their choice.

Some days if the weather is bad we will watch an educational show in the afternoon.

We usually stay home during the week, but occasionally go to the homeschool park day or to a friend’s house.

For hobbies the kids enjoy looking at books, watching videos on YouTube, playing with Legos, going on walks and playing on the trampoline.

Since we school all year our days are often relaxed with a loose schedule. This allows us to take time off to go camping or on play dates without feeling behind in school.

Our Evening:

Mom starts dinner when Dad texts to say he is biking home from work; generally around 6:00. For dinner we enjoy Mexican food, pasta dishes, soups and casseroles the most.

A high of the day is listening to everyone tell something good about their day during dinner. A low point would be if Dad is going to be late getting home.

After dinner we get our pajamas on and either watch a movie with Dad or read aloud a book. Sometimes we have a treat before brushing teeth and going to bed.

Just for Fun:

Our family doesn’t participate in very many extracurricular activities. We often meet up with another homeschool family or occasionally go to park day. We used to be a part of a co-op, but haven’t found a new one yet.

We recently took a 2800 mile long trip to Yosemite and the San Francisco area.

A Day in the Life of California Timberdoodlers

A

My name is Megan, and I am brand new to the homeschooling community.

My son is four years old, and while I feel like we’ve been learning all along, I’m especially excited to start adding structure and organized curriculum to our days. I also have two daughters, two years old and two months old.

My husband is a civil engineer, and I stay home with the kids. We live in northern California.

I love reading, baking, and being with my people. My son loves reading and playing with anything with wheels! My two year old daughter loves art projects and puzzles. The baby loves attention and hearing songs/nursery rhymes.

Our Morning:

This morning, most of us woke up at six to have breakfast together before Dad left for work.

After a breakfast of fruit and yogurt parfaits, we read our Bible and devotions (Marty Machowski’s Old Story New) and said goodbye to Dad.

Our workbooks were already laid out with sticky tabs on a few pages. We began our Timberdoodle PreK curriculum a few weeks ago. We’re planning to spend a full year in it so we can work through the workbooks slowly. My son loves Mathematical Reasoning!

Afterwards, the big kids and I talked about the calendar, got dressed, and washed dishes together while the baby napped.

For the rest of the morning, we played with play-dough and the Tiny Polka Dot game. My kids think “hungry numbers” is hysterical!

Our Afternoon:

After a lunch of PB&J for the 4-year-old and hummus/cheese/crackers for the 2-year-old, we read books and took naps.

After naptime, we talked about our Science with Tots lesson with magnifying glasses.

Then we folded laundry and relaxed in front of the air conditioner. We’re in the middle of a heat wave here!

Our Evening:

When Dad arrived home, he played with the kids while I made a dinner of tempeh taco bowls with assorted toppings.

Afterward, we played outside with our neighbors until it was time for the bath/bedtime routine.

Dad is taking care of the big kids while I nurse the baby, and hopefully everyone is down by 8:00 pm.

Then I will tidy up and lay out our materials for tomorrow’s “school time” before heading to bed myself.

Just for Fun:

As my kids are so little, we don’t do too much yet. But the 4-year-old and 2-year-old start soccer next week! It’s only a one night a week commitment (and the classes are one right after the other), so it doesn’t impact our normal schedule much.

A Day in the Life of West Virginia Timberdoodlers

A

Hi! We are Mom, M, and Mr. B.

M is an IT Manager during the day, and Step Dad extraordinaire at night. Mr. B is 12, and an autism super hero. Mom tries to be the glue that holds the universe together.

Mr. B loves meteorology and all things astronomy. M is a Star Wars buff. Mom loves to read, write, and listen to music.

We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. Josie (dog) is the oldest. She was found in 2012 hiding under a rock. She’s a retriever mix. Next comes Brutus. He packs a lot into a tiny package. He’s almost 9 pounds of awesome wrapped in a Dachshund wrapper. He is 3.5. Next comes Trapper John (can you tell Mom loves M*A*S*H?) Trapper John is the baby dog. He’s an almost 4month old Golden Doodle. The cats are Edwin (5 year old half siamese and half maine coon) and DK (2 year old long haired calico.) They rule the roost.

Our Morning:

Mom and Mr. B typically wake up about the same time M is getting to work. Mom wakes first around 8:00 am. Mr. B follows around 9:00 – 9:30.

Mr. B will eat, get dressed, and have some play time before getting the day started while mom is finishing up anything she didn’t get to the night before.

10:30 am. SCHOOL TIME!
We alternate favorite subjects with not-so-favorite subjects with breaks taken in between.

Reading (not-so-favorite)
10-minute break
Math (favorite)
5-minute break
Language Arts (not-so-favorite)
10-minute break
Science (big-time favorite)
5-minute break
Social Studies (sometimes a favorite)
Elective (Greek, Music, Art, etc. Not always a favorite!)

For this past year we have used a lot of different programs and materials.

We have used Apologia, Memoria Press, Green N Stuff, Thin Stix, Novare Earth Science, Biographies of the Revolution, Homeschool in the Woods, and soooo much more! We school all year long (per doctor’s recommendation) so we go through a lot of “stuff.”

Morning Chores are done after school work has been finished, which makes them more like afternoon chores!

Our Afternoon:

Mr. B takes medication that sometimes zaps his appetite. If not, then he tends to have pizza, nuggets, or something equally unhealthy. Mom has a salad.

We usually will leave and do errands around 2:00 pm, or leave to pick up Mom’s niece, K.

Our Evening:

Dinner time is 6:30. M is home, and he and Mr. B are usually doing something outside while Mom and K cook.

Then 8:00 pm starts family time. We may play a game, watch a movie, or even go to the theater.

Just for Fun:

Mr. B LOVES bowling. He’s a member of a junior bowling league that plays on Saturdays, so it doesn’t disrupt our day at all.
